Hi! My name is Kaitlin Bustos, I am an experienced Data Scientist with a unique combination of technical expertise and passion for using data to drive social impact. I aim to provide value to individuals and organizations to succeed in data science and make a positive difference.
Background 📊
I’ve had the privilege of developing diverse perspectives that enable me to ideate novel data science solutions that deliver real-world value. My educational background includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a minor in Statistics from the University of Victoria, as well as a Data Science Diploma from BrainStation. I hold several certificates in Clinical Data Science and Precision Medicine in addition to being a Certified Data Science Practitioner and AWS Cloud Practitioner. I believe in lifelong learning and I continuously strive to expand my knowledge as a practitioner in this field. Throughout my career, I have held a variety of positions such as a Subject Matter Expert in AI, Statistics Tutor, Data Analyst, and Data Science Consultant. These experiences have given me a broad understanding of the industry and ability to approach problems from multiple angles needed to deliver comprehensive solutions, extract valuable insights, and build cutting-edge machine learning models.
Reaching Beyond The Technical ❤️
My passion for data science goes beyond the technical aspect. I'm a Data Science Mentor at SharpestMinds committed to helping aspiring data science professionals kickstart and navigate their careers in tech. I'm frequently sharing my ideas, knowledge and experiences through various channels, including workshops, panel discussions, podcasts, conference talks, live streams, and 1:1 coffee chats. Through these engagements my goal is to foster safe communities where individuals can connect, learn, inspire and grow together.
